Once the historicity of each topic has been established, a historiography of each misconception will be examined in order to show how each false impression may have originally developed and how they were then transmitted through time to their present state in popular culture. Each section will first focus on presenting a historically accurate view of the misconceived topics. The main body of the paper is divided into three sections, one for each misconception.
